Toi Champagne Glass

Home | Finished Work | Stablemates | Stablemates 2004 - 2 | Toi Champagne Glass 1

"Toi Champagne Glass", commissioned by Melissa A. This was Breyer's Stablemate Shetland Pony Stallion, now an Amber Champagne Pony Mare. This was my first attempt at this coloring. He has had his logo and seams removed, stallion parts removed, jaws, nostrils and hooves carved, his neck removed, head lowered and neck re-sculpted; new mane, tail, forelock, ears and mare parts added. She has been designed to be "tack friendly", as her new owner is hoping to have a handmade buggy and harness made for her; thus the forelock with the hole underneath it, and the mane flipping up away from the shoulders. I did quite a bit of research on this Champagne color...it is due to a "champagne" gene, and was very fun to research. She was hand painted in acrylics to this Amber Champagne (which is a Bay horse with 2 of the champagne genes per my research!), and has the correct mottling or freckles around the eyes, muzzle and genitals. She has 4-colored Amber eyes, with eye whites, pinking, and blue outline around the iris. Her hooves were detailed in pastels. She has 2 coats of Satin finish, with one coat of Dulcoat to finish her off; her eyes, nostrils and hooves have been glossed for realism and protection. Sold in December 2004 to Melissa A.of Kansas.
