Melissa Addison has to be my most challenging "non-" customer! Keep an eye out for more stuff she is spurring me into making! This Beautiful little lady started life as Breyer's Classic Mustang Family Mare. She first had her mane, tail and forelock removed; seams ground down and sanded (this mold has a tendency for the uneven belly/groin seams); and ears, jaws, nostrils and heel bulbs carved. She had dremel work to re-shape her hips to fit the left rear leg that was cut and re-pinned in the new resting position. THEN a lot of Apoxie was added. She has a belly full of uncomfortable baby; full bag, new hips and leg muscles; new full mane and swishy tail; and to top it all off, her ears were stuffed with Apoxie fuzz; and unkempt feathering on her legs and a fuzzy jawline were added. The goal was to make her a neglected 20-year-old, uncomfortably pregnant mare. She has chips in her hooves as well. She was then handpainted in acrylics to this amazing Bay Brindle, with a snip and a white left rear sock. (See link HERE to learn more about Brindle Horses.) She has amazing 5-colored eyes and pastel-detailed hooves; and my initials (JFW 05) are on the bottom of her right rear hoof. I want to thank Morgan and her beautiful mare, Brenda Batty Atty, for sending me photos, and for "posing" as my painting Model. To see Morgan and Brenda Batty Atty click HERE.
