This is my most detailed resculpted model to date, so bear with me as I show off some steps of her creation. I got involved as Sales Manager for The International Blessed Broodmare Project in November of 2007 to help save over 90 Pregnant PMU Broodmares from slaughter. During that time, I also committed to resculpting a few Mini Haggis resins that our Founder, Deb Buckler, sent to me; they are what are called seconds. These seconds are resins that come out of the mold process with more issues than normal--maybe excess resin, the wires poking out of legs, air bubbles that cause large pockets of holes, seams that are uneven, etc. I also purchased two of these Mini Haggis Resins on my own to donate, so I had 4 in total. Two good ones, and two seconds. Mini Haggis was named for an unappetizing food (to ME mind you) in Scotland. So, I did a little research, and discovered that the USA has its own version of Haggis...Boudin Blanc. Since Deb Buckler was in the process of sculpting 25 Blessed Broodmares on the Mini Haggis resin that she named Mini Hagginas, I decided to do a mini 4 horse run of Boudin's. This is Boudin #1 of 4. I cannot tell you ALL that I did to her or you would be reading for hours on end, so let the pictures speak the words for me. Considering that she took me close to 3 months to finish--and these are just a FEW pictures of the steps in-between--you can imagine the hours of work that went into her. After I finished sculpting Boudin #1, I held onto her for the next 8 months; I was too afraid to paint her myself, and I was waiting for the perfect painter to come along. I finally got the courage up to ask my mentor and good friend, Charlotte Donahue, to paint/pastel her. She accepted.
