This is another one of Peter Stone's new Chips Molds: the Pony mold - made out of rubbery type material. She was fun to play with though! I sanded her seams; filled in the logo on the inside of her leg; and, with Apoxie Sculpt, sculpted her some gelding parts; he then got his left front hoof reshaped with Apoxie; his jaws, raised hooves and heel bulbs were carved; and then he was primered in red. He was handpainted in acrylics and was supposed to be a lovely classic-type Tobiano Shetland Pony gelding, but his pattern kept going weird on me. Finally, it dawned on me that he wanted to be a Pintaloosa (a spotted Appaloosa type pinto pattern) - NOT a Tobiano! As soon as I made that realization, his pattern came together in a hurry! He has another one of those fantastically expressive faces, showing lots of attitude and character! He was sold on eBay in May of 2007 to my good friend and fellow artist Karla Zdroik, who lives in Idaho. |
