Misha Snowdust is a simple repaint I did on the World of Dogs Samoyed mold. I washed the dog off and let it air dry, then I handpainted directly on the resin. White is actually harder to paint than it looks! Too much paint and you lose the detailed hairs in the resin; not enough, and it isn't white! She ended up looking great - has tri-colored eyes, typical black eyeliner, slightly pinked "snow nose", black gums, white teeth, soft pink tongue, and just a bit of cream in her ears. Samoyed's were used as Reindeer herding dogs in Russia and Siberia when they weren't pulling sledges, so I found a Schleich Reindeer to put in my background just for fun! The "snow" is actually Baking Soda!! I poured it out on some waxed paper and it makes GREAT snow! Misha is currently part of my dog show string and is not for sale. |
