Chile Pepper

Yes, yet ANOTHER Bay Brindle to add to my growing repertoire. This one was done on the Peter Stone Chips Andalusian mold. He has had some extensive work done: Both right legs were cut off and repositioned with pin reinforcements - the right rear leg was actually shortened as well; then all the muscling around both legs and part of the shoulder and chest were resculpted to accommodate the move. A new mane, forelock and wire reinforced tail were sculpted; feathering was added to all four legs; logo was filled in; seams were removed; jaw line was carved; and finally he was put in primer. Then, of course, I dropped him; thankfully he landed on his MANE, so I had to do a very slight touch up in Apoxie to that. After his primer had dried for a week, I spent 9 hours painting his brindle details. I even textured his brindle stripes slightly to make them more realistic, like the Brindle pattern which is textured in real life - the hair is usually longer on the Brindle pattern. His tri-colored eyes just add that much more depth to him. He was created solely as a "Moment In Time" donation to the North American Model Horse Association's North American Nationals (NAN) auction. My "Moment In Time" captured this rare Brindle Pattern on an Ancient Breed, the Chilean Criollo. Not only did I sculpt and paint the horse, but with J. Sharon Batteate's permission, I drew up two documents about the History of the Brindle Pattern in horses, and also did research and a document on the Chilean Criollo in History. These printed-out documents and a CD of the creation of this guy and his photo shoot went to the Melissa Emery, the winning bidder in the NAN Auction on Friday evening of June 22nd, 2007. Congratulations Melissa! Update: Melissa donated Chile Pepper to The International Blessed Broodmare Project in February 2008; he subsequently was purchased by Marla P. The funds raised in his sale went to help Ronni Marcum bring home her PMU Filly, Dash, from Canada! Thank you Melissa for your wonderful donation!
