This is Pedrito. He started out as a Breyer Stablemate G3 Jumper. A lot of work went into him to get him to this pose; and he actually ended up standing by himself, even though I created a special base for him to stand on. I loved how his grey came out--one of my few pastel jobs--but he needed a little more pizzazz. He reminded me a lot of a horse I used to ride when I was 10 and living in Spain; his name was Pedrito, and he was part Arab and part something REALLY fast. Pedrito was my favorite horse to ride, and he was my buddy. He was also a fleabit grey. Well, I went back and put on the fleabits, handpainted them all in--and I apparently got a little bored, because after photographing him and looking at the photos in LARGE format...those fleabites were HUGE. Pedrito then got the oven cleaner treatment to strip his paint, and--sadly--the oven cleaner ate into the Apoxie Sculpt and also took off his paint! So, poor Pedrito is no more. He sits sadly in my work cupboard, hoping that some day I will get the urge to re-finish him once again. He was a cute little guy! |
