Silver Dun Mule

This beautiful girl was created using the new Peter Stone Chips Mule mold that just came out in 2007. These new Chips are NOT made of the same plastic, but are made out of the rubbery material that Schleich uses. Thus, it is harder to sand seams and carve heels, hooves and jaws - but this gal still had that done! I am nothing but feisty when faced with a challenge. The problem with these new Chips though is that their legs are thin and bend easily. This proved to be a big challenge when painting. Why? Because they kept bending when I held onto them to paint the body or the tail...and bending painted parts is not a good thing! That can lead to cracks and stuff. So it was a bigger challenge to paint her than it was to dremel those heel bulbs, hooves and jaws! Despite the difficulties, she painted up just fine with no cracks. Handpainted in acrylics to a soft silvery Dun Mule Mare, with 4-colored eyes, pastel-detailed hooves, and all the yummy back, shoulder and leg barring she could want! I had the most fun painting her corrugated mane and tail...she turned out so lovely she almost did not go up for sale!! She was sold on eBay in May of 2007 to Terry G. here in Washington State! Maybe I will get to see her at a Live Show sometime!! HEE!
