This little colt started life as Breyer's Classic Andalusian Foal. He was missing a portion of his right rear hoof, and had teeth marks on his belly and legs. Poor guy had met up with an angry dog or rat! So, I resculpted that hoof when I added the feathering on his legs; gave him boy parts; drilled holes for his horns and wings; then inserted bent nails for the horns and sculpted over those nails. I inserted the wings - which were made of resin by Tammy Abbey of Abbeyinc Studios - and stuffed the holes with Apoxie Sculpt and sculpted the wing muscles into his shoulders; resculpted his forelock mane and tail; and added the ridge of hair along his back. He was then handpainted in metallic paints to this bizarre-yet-stunning reddish-orange Bat-Winged Foal. This guy had a home from the time I pulled him out of the box - I created him especially for my Mentor Charlotte Donahue's husband, Dick. Dick is a very special man, who watches over and cares for one of my best friends in this world. He was painted to go with Dick's passion for tricked-out Motorcycles! Dick, I hope Arlenness brings you many years of happiness! You can see Dick with Arlenness and his motorcycle HERE. |
