This was originally Breyer's Stablemate Trotting foal. She got a makeover, using a few legs from the Thoroughbred Standing foal mold, and is now a handsome little American Saddlebred colt. He had his right rear and left front leg removed and the standing foal legs brought in, pinned, and Apoxied in place, with lots of sculpting done in the right flank, the left front shoulder, and most of the left front leg, as the standing Thoroughbred foal has smaller legs. He had his heel bulbs, nostrils, and ears carved, his seams and logo removed, and tons of sanding. He also got his little boy parts added. He then was hand painted in acrylics to a baby red-chestnut. He has 4 colors in his eyes as well as a bit of eye white, and pinking in the corners. His hooves were detailed with pastels; and, after 3 coats of matte finish, his eyes, nostrils and hooves were glossed. He was created for the owner of my other two American Saddlebred horses that are owned by Anne in OH. Anne has provided a photo all three of them together (see page 5)...what a great looking family! Thank you Anne for the joy of working on this cute little foal, and for the wonderful photo! |
