This is a commission I worked on for my friend Madison. She E-mailed me about doing a portrait of her friend's pony on the Stablemate Shetland Pony mold. The Pony's name was Bagels N' Cheese, and he had crossed the "Rainbow Bridge" recently. I agreed, but because I was in the middle of preparing for a show, poor Bagel kept getting bumped down my commission list! I finally finished him after 5 months, so I gave him to her for free. Bagel has had his original mane and forelock removed; his ears and new mane and forelock resculpted; nostrils, jaws and hooves/heelbulbs carved; and then was handpainted to this aged Red Chestnut. For some reason, I did not get him on my website until now (October 2005--and he was finished in March 2005!). On page 6 you will find a photo of the real Bagel. This little guy is now owned by Sarah G. of Florida, the real Bagel's owner. |
