Down N Dirty

"Down N Dirty" is the second of three "Non-Commissions" by Melissa Addison. This little girl started life as Breyer's Stablemate Running Foal. She has had her fetlocks (ankles) tweaked into a more accurate position; her left rear leg was cut and re-pinned higher and resculpted so that she would balance on the one hoof; her right rear hoof and part of the leg bone hollowed out and Apoxied around the outer leg bone for strength; and her ears, jaws, heel bulbs and raised hooves were carved. She then got a slight face lift, with flaring nostrils, and a bit of carving to give her a bit of a nose bone. The base was handsculpted in Apoxie Sculpt with an angled nail for her hoof to rest on. She was then handpainted in acrylics into this adorable Red Chestnut Appaloosa Filly with kissy spots on her pinked muzzle, eye whites, 4-colored eyes, a layered Appy Blanket pattern, pasteled and painted detailed hooves, with my Signature and Initials (JFW 05) on her base. She was sold to Melissa Addison.

Update: Down N Dirty came back into my possession for a little while when she was up for sale for several months. Shortly after she arrived, she insisted she needed to go to my friend Karla for her Birthday. So, she got packed up and off she went. She is now owned by my good friend Karla Zdroik.
