Shetland Pony

This is my second finished work for Horsing Around. He is the Hairy Shetland Pony resin sculpted by the talented David Mayer for Horsing Around. He has had some reconstructive surgery done by me using Apoxie Sculpt. When he arrived, he had a resin blob support up under his mane and forelock on the right side, and when it was removed, he no longer had an eye. I resculpted the eye and added some cheekbone. He also had an air bubble in his chin which caused a hole on the left side, so that was filled in with Apoxie Sculpt and re-formed and haired. He also needed a little addition to the hairy parts of his leg and belly where the mold seams were removed. He was then handpainted in acrylics to a red chestnut with mixed flaxen mane and tail, slightly yellowed for realism. He has 5-colored eyes with pinking and a beautifully pinked blaze. He has some blending work done on his body with pastels, pasteled hooves, 2 coats of matte finish and a coat of Testor's Dulcoat; as well as eyes, nostrils and hooves glossed for realism. He is the property of Horsing Around. Check out this link HERE to see my other finished resins for Horsing Around. This is the second of a batch of three done for Horsing Around.
