This is a slight Customization of Breyer's Traditional Oldenburg Stallion. All of the work I did was from the neck up. He had a funky mane which I removed, and I had to sand sand sand the seams on his neck. Breyer produced this mold originally as a Jumper with a braided mane, then produced the Oldenburg with a flying mane (see page 5 for what he looked like originally); when they did the mane swap, they left a very large seam on either side of the neck around the mane. Since I wanted to shorten it to a more appropriate Cross Country type mane, I had to fix those seams. So, he has a newly sanded neck, a new shorter mane, and a new tack friendly forelock. And then I worked on his face a bit. The main thing was filling in his air hole and the large gap between his lips. He also got a little carving on his nose bone. I ran out of desire to paint him, so sold him unpainted to Lisa Esping on eBay in January 2006. I hope to someday have painted photos of him from her! |
