Here is Winifred, the mare of the Unpainted group that I sold in 2004 to Kimmy W., who in turn painted, primered over and sold her to Melissa W. in 2005. You can view her as she looked before I did the new work HERE. Melissa is now such a good friend that we can laugh over "the Flock of Seagulls" look that this mare (okay, and the stallion, too) had for a tail...hehe! You might have to be our age to understand that statement, though! HEEHEE!! In any case, the mare was stripped (carved and peeled more like, she had SO many layers of paint and primer!); and I had to actually carve off the feathering and her mane as they were so thick with layers that there was no detail in them anymore. I lopped off her tail; and sculpted all new mane, forelock, tail and leg feathering; added a mare bag; and finally primered her LIGHTLY. I forgot to take pics of her in primer, so you can see the resculpting on Page 3 and Page 4. She was then handpainted to a cremello American Creme Draft Mare. Cremello is basically a pale Palomino color that has been affected by genetics to cause a pale pink-skinned hue as well as other definable traits, like the black eyeliner around the eyes, pinking on the muzzle and genitals, etc. It was really hard to photograph her true color; these photos do not show how pale she really is in person!
