Chevy Windwalker was originally completed in 2005 - but I was not happy with how she fit onto her base. She never could place Live higher than 4th, so it was time to see what I could do to help her. My husband was able to order some acrylic rods from a place his work does business with; so I drilled a hole in her belly, created a new base for her out of Apoxie, and cut the rod to fit. She now rests on the rod and can actually be positioned and held in place, with tacky wax on the rod, in several positions. I also repainted around the hole in her belly and touched up some problem areas such as her dorsal (back) stripe which had barring that judges do not want to see - although it IS accurate and is based on a real photo of a foal; and I fixed the whites in her pattern a bit. Subtle changes, but she looks great! You can see how she looked before these changes here. Chevy is NOT for sale. She is part of my show string. |
