Okay, you are looking at this guy and going, "What the heck??" I know!! I was NOT going to post this guy to my Website, as he is NOT my favorite, and I must admit I am a bit embarrassed over him; and yet, at the same time, he is SO different and unique, and he WAS a learning experience; so, what the heck, here he is! If you stick with me through the photos, you will at least get to see how he was made, which IS the interesting part...hehe!! I got an E-mail asking if I could do a Butterfly horse for someone for their wedding. She wanted me to paint him in the colors she was going to use in her wedding, which were Baby Blue and Yellow. I know next to nothing about butterflies...so I did a lot of research on the wings, looking for photographs of different butterflies, and also researched the butterflies in the area where the wedding was to take place. As I began sculpting we got the idea to interlock hers and her fiancé's initials on the wings; you will see the lettering in the overhead shot. Please do not worry - I ended up doing this one for free; so the lady did NOT have to pay me for this...interesting...horse. It was a wedding gift...hehe! In any case, you now know the history of the colors and the lettering on the wings. I will meet you on a future page to fill you in on the sculpting part. |
