This gorgeous resin is a Stablemate-sized resin named Challenger, sculpted by Tina Lamport of England. Vanessa of Horsing Around contracted me to paint 3 resins for them, and this is the first one I finished. Most of you may be familiar with Horsing Around Magazine, but Horsing Around is also well known for being a top producer of resin and china horse sculptures. This guy, Challenger, came to me with minimal prep work needed; and then I painted him by hand in acrylics to this handsome red-dun. He has 5-colored eyes with eye whites and pinking in corners, painted and pasteled hooves, 3 coats of matte finish, and eyes, nostrils and hooves glossed. His shoes are sculpted on - and these are the first ones I have ever painted! This horse was a fun project, and I hope to continue to do more for Vanessa and Horsing Around in the future! Keep your eye on my Horsing Around Resins page for more! Thank you to Vanessa and Mac for the wonderful opportunity! Sold 4/05 to Kerstin R. of the UK. |
