This little guy is the "Merlin" resin, a Stablemate-sized Welsh B Stallion, sculpted by the talented Linda York. He arrived in my home whole - and I dropped him right out of the box! So he now has a pinned, resculpted front left leg at the knee, as well as a brand new tail. He also needed some resculpting on both raised hooves. He was then handpainted in acrylics to this Dark Bay Brindle. (See link HERE to learn more about Brindle Horses!) Most of the breeds that the Brindle color crops up in do not recognize this color, so he will have to be shown as a Grade (unknown or unregisterable breed) horse. He has layers of acrylics to achieve this color, with 3-colored eyes and pastel-detailed hooves. His base was painted to resemble sand. He was purchased by Melissa Wilson of Maine on eBay, 1/06. His new name is Merlin Barq (because her son said he looks like Rootbeer!) Congratulations Melissa! Update, 2006: Melissa had to sell of some of her models to acquire a model she had wanted for a LONG time, so she traded him to Mary C. in Summer of 2006. Mary turned around and put him up for sale. I purchased him back from her, when he did not get a new owner, in October of 2006. Update, 2008: Beccy Fielding of the UK loves my brindle work, so when she was having a bad month, I decided this guy needed a new home. He is happily living with my other Brindle resin, more fondly known as Waddles, as of 2008! |
