Isn't this a beautiful sculpture? This is The Blessed Broodmare Plaque, sculpted specifically for The International Blessed Broodmare Project by overseas UK artistand my good friendKelly Savage. Kelly poured her heart into this sculpture, and it shows. I volunteered to paint several of these, and this was the first one done. I also wanted to showcase mares and foals that we had helped save and helped get into GOOD homes. These two were painted using photos of Tropical Zipper, an older QH PMU Broodmare, who was pregnant and heading to slaughter when TIBBP stepped in and helped lower her adoption fees and helped pay for her shipping to get to a wonderful woman in Louisiana. Tropical Zipper had a colt, Rock, May 21, 2008a healthy, happy, beautiful coltand both will never have to fear ending up at slaughter ever again. You can see a photo of the two of them here. This plaque was sold, and 100% of the proceeds went to help lower adoption fees on more horses. Consider taking a moment to look into helping animals in need in your own town$5 can make a BIG difference to an animal needing a good meal for a night, or needing a vaccine.
